I have been trying to remember the name of a certain tetra. I believe it has numbers, and letters in its name. They are a reddish fish, with a white striped, and black dorsal fin. Help me remember, its driving me crazy.:banghead:

A white stripe in their body or dorsal fin? How big do they get?

Reddish tetras I can think of are serpae tetra, rosy tetra, false rosy tetra (also known as white tip, bentosi, ornate). There is something called a three spot tetra but it's not red.

What your talking about sounds like serpae to me. But Serpens have no white stripe. Can we have some more details. No tetra has number in its name.
Can we see a picture, of not how does it bahave? Is it agreesive, small, fast, slow, etc?
Here's a link with names of tetras and their picture, tell me if I helped.
