i have 6 silver tip tetras and seem to be quite aggressive they are constantly chase the other fish but they also swim into each other very fast is this normal i haven't had fish for a number of years now just getting back into it if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Yes they do that. How long have they been in the tank? How big is the tank? If they are new they may calm down a bit down the road once they are established. If they are not new did you add anything or change the tank around? If it is no to all you just got some happy fish not really mean fish. As long as they dont attack and injure any other fish it is fine. I have some bleeding hearts that did that when I first added them to the tank. That last a good two weeks or so. They are very calm now even with each other. Barbs are another that do this type of behaviour. Fun to watch if no one gets hurt.
