To buy crabs or crayfish or not?

I find myself shuddering as I attempt to visualize this:

pack of crayfish will attack healthy fish and bring them down

Sounds a lot like wolves going after a moose in the snow. Picture a pack of enraged crayfish coming after YOUR legs while you're wading in the local stream!!

i don't think this could happen at all IMO. have you ever seen 2 crawfish togeather at all??? unless for mating reasons i believe the are primarily solitary animals. i could be wrong but everytime i see them at the LFS if one gets too close to another the snap at each other. and come to think about it they do have alot of plants and rocks and thigs in the tank at the LFS. i would assume for boundry area's???

If you look in my gallery, you can see how I set my tank up- it's all just lava rock siliconed to the glass. It forms a shelf that wraps around the back and sides of he aquarium, and gives the crabs plenty of room to crawl around, and tons of hiding places.
