today i broke my first heater :(

i was changing the sand, and i had mts, so i had to filter it out. i siphoned some of the water into a bucket and started to filter the sand out when i heard a *pop* and sizzleing. i looked and thought it was my filter but my filter wouldnt don that. when i saw my heater it broke in 2, and the springs were hanging out. luckily for me it was only 10$ so... coulda been worse.

ACK...its good to hear that you didnt get hurt..

Im guessing you didnt unplug it and wait the fifteen min. or make sure it stays under the water.. I havnt done this yet.. and think it has something to do with my extreme paranoia of something going wrong, it puts me in mind of how much care I give loaded weapons.. accidents do happen.. I just really hope no one gets hurt with this one... 8O

well... i got it from bigals about 5 months ago... but i dont think they'll replace it because its my fault.

also i didnt believe something that serious would happen. the bottom practically melted off! i was just expecting it to be because if you touch it out of the water you'll get burnt.
but boy was i wrong

Now that you have the chance to get a new heater, get a stealth.

i would sugest you get a won brothers titanium heater. You pay a lil bit more but you know what, it is well worth the cash spent ... no more breaking glass, titanium, and it is awesome for keeping your temperatures dead on!
