ugly gravel switch

Im tired of blue gravel in in 75g O tank, im gonna switch to a natural gravel, what im gonna do to save my BB in the blue gravel is just put the natural color gravel on top of the blue gravel, is that alright? Another thing im gonna do is take out 25% water to put the gravel in, anything else I should do?

The BB lives in your filter more than your gravel. You're okay to do a full switch,

If you put the gravel on top it would all mix together after awhile
