I just noticed film on the water surface. I have petroleum jelly in the filter motor. Issue?

Likely harmless and a result of low surface agitation. Increase that and it will go away.

It's an AquaClear 150 on full flow on a 10g. I don't think that's the issue ;(

Then, when in doubt.... do a large (50%+) PWC. Any chance for a pic?

Can't this camera sucks. I'm gonna buy a new motor tommorow as it has noise issues also.

I think it has residue petroleum jelly.

Are bolivian rams sensitive to noise? It's clanky in that tank.

It sort of hardened when I saw it. I just took apart the motor. Chunks got into the tank too.

Want to shoot myself, what a disaster!

The surface of the water is dusty, fine particles on top.

Never seen this, what could it be?

Dusty Tank Water?

For the past few days I've noticed a film of... Dust? Forming atop my tank water. I notice when I gravel vaccumed I pulled up some REALLY fine particles, like dust.

I have no idea what this is or how it got in my tank, please help!

Bacteria bloom? Although that does look really foggy so im not really sure.

Have you added any chemicals to your tank?

So is the water oily or are there dusty fine particles? What in the world has gone on around you tank to cause all these issues? You are really confusing me!

Nah, my cam sucks, water is crystal and I already cycled and had my Bacterial Bloom.

No chemicals added apart from Flourish yesterday.

I have good agitation, AC 150 On max flow in the tank.

The surface looks alot clearer now, but I don't want the unlucky mischievous god of fishkeeping to hesr that. (after pwc and gv)
