Using logs

OK ... Here is the the deal. Recently I purchased an acerage that is mostly wooded. There are a lot of trees and logs around the place. What would be the upside and downside of using some of that material in my 75gal tanks???? I am getting tired of just using things commercially available and I thought it might be nice to actually plant a tank thar really resembled more of a real natural setting.

Upside is alot of money saved, downside is you gotta go thru the procedure of cleaning and actually turning it into driftwood.
