Using used water for WC

I was wondering, when i do my water changes for my one gallon, would it be better to use water from my cycled ten gallon, or new water, or half and half?

I read a artical in FAMA a long time ago by a prolific author in ichthology that discussed taking old aquarium water and sterilizing it (like with chlorine) and letting it set to de-gas for a couple of weeks and then do water changes with it.. I was expecting a question like this when I read the title of your thread..LOL and I really think used water is kind of a hokey idea.. If Im going to bother with changing the water I want to use new water.. Just some thoughts..LOL

New water....making old water suitable for even an occasional water change is not worth the time and effort unless you really, really need to conserve water.
