wow. that's some crazy teeth going on there. almost looks like one of those crazy deep sea glow in the dark fish...
 
I ran across those while doing some research for my S.A. biotope. Very popular game fish down there. Scary looking, but they only eat fish--pirhanas get all the glory.

Why would any lfs sell this fish and not put the maximum size?

good grief. i'm still dealing with the shock of finding out that my horseface loaches (recommended by LFS) are gonna be about 9 inches long. i'm sure glad i didn't buy a vampire!
 
I'm almost tempted to buy a school of Vampire Tetra's now.

They look like a fish perfect suited to my personality :D


I have a 20,000Gal swimming pool they could go in.. :D:D:D
 
Dang'it! That adult picture looks more like something from some 10,000ft oceanic trench than from a quite South American river.
Selling those to joe schmoe general public should be punishable by flogging :evil:
