What's the best? I'm trying to decide between internal and a canister filter

Hmm I don't really have a personal preference because all I use are HOB filters. However I do own a Marina i25 and the flow is perfect for a 10 gallon. It's cheap and efficient for the price. As with all filters that have/use cartridges, I usually throw them away and replace them with foam instead. You could do a canister if you're willing to put in the extra money.

An internal filter is going to take up a lot of valuable real estate in a 10. Personally, I would look into HOB.
