How much marine salt per gallon do violet gobies require? I plan to purchase one and place it in a 30 gal. while still small.
 
Whatever it takes to give you a specific gravity of 1.005-1.010....you need to go buy yousrelf a hydrometer to accurately measure and maintain that salinity level.
 
It takes about a cup of marine salt/5gal to raise the SG .005. You musn't raise it more than .002/weekly water change, or you'll cause the tank system to crash.
 
also, check your salinity at the temperature that you intend to keep your fish. The gravity will change as your temp changes!
