Vitamin supplements?

After having a brief scare with possible HIHD with my Oscar (whatever it was seems to have healed on its own) I was wondering if there is any benefit to adding vitamins to the food/water - or if doing so is a waste of money. Malnutrition is thought to contribute to HIHD so I was wondering if adding vitamins might head this off. I currently feed her freeze dried krill, frozen beef heart, hikari gold pellets, and freeze dried blood worms. Has anyone had positive results with vitamin supps?

I take multi-vitamins everyday even though I try to eat a balanced diet.

I soak my fish's food in Vitachem to make sure he gets all his vitamins. I'm not sure if it has affected him because he is still young and still growing. Its cheap insurance though.
