Water ager off? + Goldfish fry

I just went to use my water ager, and I think it might be off? It says it doesn't expire til 07, but it's been hot here lately and I think it may have gone a bit funny. It used to be a light blue colour, now it's clear. Also, I don't recall ever smelling it before, but I'm sure it didn't smell like rotten egg... :/ Sound off to you?

While I'm here, I was using the ager for my 4 little goldfish fry, that are about 1cm long. I'm feeding them "fry bites" which is apparently a growth formula food, but they don't seem to be growing much at all. These little guys are now a few months old and don't seem to be growing at all. What can I do to give them a push?

When you say "water ager" do you mean dechlorinator? If so, is it Prime? Prime will begin to smell "off" as it ages. It happens all the time and will not harm your fish.

Are the fry in an adequate sized tank? Keep up with the water changes and regular feedings. I'm not sure how long it takes for fry to grow.

yeah, dechlorinator. it's a pet shop brand, not prime (i've never seen that).

the fry are in a betta tank, as i don't have any bigger tank setup at the moment. i considered taking them into work, but was not sure if they'd get eaten. there's a tank with guppies, danios and small cae's - would they do ok in there, you think?

They could do all right with those tank mates, but you may want to wait a little longer unless you have heavy plant cover. Live food will help them grow much faster. I use a brine shrimp hatchery. There are also live food cultures available on aquabid.
