Water changes

If you have a tank full of fish and a tank full of shrimp, do they need the same % of water change? Shrimp dont make much waist so I guess they dont need a high %

Remove and replace at least half the tank water weekly, no matter how many living things are living there. The reason is, the longer water stays in a container, the more it changes chemically. Over time, the water becomes sterile, with no trace elements and is unable to hold oxygen. Large, frequent water changes replaces trace elements and oxygen mixes easily with fresh, pure water.
