Water is really cloudy

I've had my tank for almost a year, and all of the sudden, the water is really cloudy. I put some nutrafin clearfast in but it just made it more cloudy. the same thig happened when i did a water change. I cleaned the filter and its a bit better but still cloudy, any ideas?

Cloudy in what way? White cloudy water? Green? Brown? Have you changed anything in the tank lately or changed filter media? What lights do you have and how long do you keep them on? Any direct sunlight getting to the tank?

its white, i leave the light on anywhere from 2 to 3 hours per day, and i have not changed anything in my tank, i just did a water change
