Weird stuff on surface of water.

I just noticed this weird stuff on the surface of my tank. It almost looks like oil but I know it's not. Its shiny when u look at it and when I touched it it broke apart like if it were refrigerated chicken broth. I know for sure that my water results from testing it are all at normal, but I still have no idea where this came from or how it's forming. Ohh, and also I tried removing it but it came back.

its just a biofilm that forms on top of water. add surface agitation to get rid of it
 
I just did a wc and i found a clear white film with white dots in this clear web. what is this. its all over my gravel and plants

it's probably just protein, tends to happen a lot in tanks that feed primarily flake food or don't have much surface agitation.

ok good I was worried and I do use flakes a lot. thanks :)
