Red wigglers are small earthworms. Usually the Petco here will carry them in the refrigerator. They just need to be kept cool and moist, they are live worms.
Also, at the lfs, in their freezer, you might find frozen Krill. It's a much larger food for bigger fish. I have some, and will be trying it for my eel to see if he'll take it. Also, shrimp and prawns from the frozen section in the grocery store.

Have you tried earthworms? I had a tire-track eel (years ago) that thrived on them after it outgrew bloodworms.
