Well, I've done it...

I have live plants in my tanks now. ::sigh:: Everyone wish me luck. I have anacharis (2), java fern, melon sword, and narrow leaf chain sword (2). I split them up between my two tanks. The 10 gal still has a couple plastic to keep its hiding spots for my smaller Buenas Aries tetra. I took all the plastic plants out of the 5 gal..and my betta acts like he's in heaven in there. He keeps swimming in between the leaves of the chain sword plant, and then snuggling down next to it (like he does when he's sleeping). With a little luck (and help from those here) maybe I will have better luck my first time around with aquarium plants than I had the first time around with aquarium fish!

Congrats! Plants make fish happy, so it was a good move. Let us know how they do, but I'll bet you never go back to plastic
