I got an order of plants in yesterday. I washed them and soaked them and everything before putting them in my tank but when I woke up I found these little guys. I dont know much about snails so I was hoping you guys could tell me what these are? I have a feeling they are prolly pond snails if so how do I get rid of them not sure how many more are in the tank. I am trying to set up the tank for RCS so the tank is currently empy except for plants.

Most of them look the same but one has this spiral shell not sure if you can tell.

Also how do I prevent more comming in when I order more plants from this seller? I love the plants and was gonna order another batch.

Simple ... A Hydrogen Peroxide dip. I dip all new plants into a cup / bowl etc of H. Peroxide for a minute. Rinse with tap water, then another minute dip with fresh H. Peroxide. You'd be shocked at all the little critters that hide in plants that you just wont see, but'll be dead at the bottom of the container your using for dipping.

I do three different 1 minute dips, rinsing each time. Haven't loss a plant or moss yet, but have loss plenty of snails, nematode, "cyclops" etc.

Just pure Hydrogen Peroxide?

How do I get rid of the ones in the tank now?

Just pure H. Peroxide. If you want to dilute it with some water, go ahead. Figure 75% peroxide, 25% water.
I believe someone already answered you in regards to the snails on a duplicate thread.

Hope you get rid of those pesky snails.
Good Luck!
