Got this bad boy several days ago. He doesn't seem to be eating. Shop owner said he eats algae.

I dunno what he's called in English. Would someone be kind enough to id him so I can dig for more info?

What size tank do you have him in? Is the tank cycled?

looks to me as if its some type of chinese algae eater or otocinclus , google those fish and tell me what yout think . google is your friend

A minnow of some sort. Maybe a tropical or even native shiner.
Btw it's always best to research before a purchase. Years ago I've made my share of "impulse" buys with due regret. Nowadays with all the technology available it's easier than ever to find that perfect match.
Welcome to AA:)

Does it have a dark stripe that runs the length of it's body? It looks like there may be a faint marking in the pictures which may be dulled by stress of the camera. If he's got that black strip that runs up to the tail and that spot than I'd say SAE. It was my first guess looking at the body shape.

If not an SAE than I agree with the Shiner.

Thanks tony gill. It is indeed a CR . I just found out CR is aka silver flying fox which is exactly what we call in Chinese.

Thanks everyone for helping id this fish!
