what is it?

can someone help me identify this moss / algae? i'm in illinois, US

You can't really see anything in the pic... Can you grab some and take a pic?

Thats a shallow river bed... What interests you about the flora in it?

If you take a closeup picture of it and tell me the country and climate you live in I can identify it for you...

It could be sago pondweed, brown algae, or dying algae. I'm not sure... It could even be a form of bacterial colony or a foreign species. Try to get a picture of it in a cup and I'll be able to tell you... Just don't touch it it could be full of microbes and toxins!!!!
