what is this and how to get rid of it

Hi all never had this red stuff b4 tank been up for like 2 months maybe more what is it and how do I get rid of it

Is it slimy? If its only on the wood, take it out and scrub it under hot water

It's on only on peace of wood and will do it today and would it be infilter???

I don't think it will do any harm- though if you dont remove it may spread and become difficult to eradicate. I believe its a kind of bacteria. If the fish are eating it I wouldn't worry. They're pretty good at knowing what is bad for them.

Ok great only seen that it came threw last night and spotted it to day wood out and getting a good clean cheers
