I'm having a hard time determining what we are supposed to be looking at. The bumps on the leaves?

It's the small tan oval like things in the center of the screen.

It's hard to see, I shouldn't have posted this, there to small.

Its hard to see if agree, but like fishkeeper said looks like sum kind of brown algae starting out.

There small(very small) tan little ovals all clumped up together on that orange ornament, and then there's some smaller clumps all over the rest of it. But I'm not talking about the brown algae... In the picture it looks like a tan blob.

Poke it with a stick :D

Don't be too hard on yourself. I bet there are a few dozen aquarists that only hope their problem turns out so non-threatening to their tank.

Ok I'm not so sure it's poop anymore. I found ALOT of it deed in the gravel at the back of my tank.

Hm, still a bit hard to tell from the picture. Do you vacuum the gravel regularly and do weekly water changes?

It could be built-up gunk/food/waste, but again it's hard to tell. I'd take it out (vacuum it up if you can) and see if it comes back. You could also rinse off your decorations in old tank water during a water change and see if it comes off the plants.
