Smile What is this white cotton on my driftwood?

I've noticed that over the last week, there is some white stuff, like cotton, growing on the surface of my driftwood. Is this a type of fungus?

It seems my platies like to eat that but I am not sure if I should be worried about or not. How can I get rid of it?

Have a nice weekend all.

Questions:
Where did you get the DW?
Was it soaked before introducing it into the tank?
How soft is the wood?

Nope, it's normal. New driftwood tends to get that cottony growth; after a while it'll go away. It's fine if your fish eat it. You can always rub it off too but it'll probably just keep coming back until the wood is finished leeching.
