That's exactly what I was thinking of, too...the way bettas follow you around. Also, they are very curious and always nosing into the other fishes' business. you can almost see them wagging their tails.
In my community tank, though, I always thought of the corycats as being like dogs, because of the way they run in packs around the bottom, and they always seem so busy and cheerful. And the guppies were always the butterflies, flittering around adding little bits of color. The gouramis were like people, because they were always having these little disagreements and jealousies and chasing each other into different areas of the tank. Also, they explored everything with their little arms.
I love owning a little world.
