Just so we're on the same page, you add your water to the test tube and shake very well, then add test drops and shake very well again? I've always added my water to the test tube, then immediately added the test drops, then shake.

Yea that's exactly how I do it.

After shaking both bottles well, I add the water, add 10 drops from bottle 1, cap and shake. Then i add 10 drops from bottle 2, cap, shake VERY well, and wait 5 mins.
