What kind of salt should I use in Brackish Water set-up

I have some "Aquarium Salt" which it says is made all-natural from dired sea-water. I assume this is ok. What is the difference between aquarium salt and marine salt and which is best to use?

I suggest marine salt. Aquarium salt is pure salt; marine salt contains minerals that are normally found in the ocean. Since brackish water isn't made with pure salt in the wild, its better to use marine salt which will add the other items normally found in brackish waters.

I agree. Buy a quality marine mix for use as brackish water. They have buffers, salts and essential minerlas in them to help better maintain brackish conditions. Also yo99u should get a hydrometer to measure the specific gravity of the solution. Stable SG is very important for marine and brackish water tanks.

That Aquarium salt is really only good for medicating sick freshwater fish.

For my BW tank, I will be using marine salt. I just wish I could find it in smaller quantities. My tank is only 29 gal and all I can find are 10lb bags or higher

Thanks, now I can convert that to kilograms and call around
I miss the US--it's so hard using recipes and going to the store and having to try and convert the needed ingredients from pounds/ounces into kilograms/liters.
Oh well, as long as I know smaller allotments are out there, I WILL find them!
