What the Heck is that!?!

hey, just got back from a week in the north woods of wisconsin.. and what do i find on my 5 1/2 [acronym:1246675e10="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:1246675e10] ?? !!! what is this? it is (growing?) on the intake of the filter.

it sorta looks like a dirty cluster of cotton. dunno? any thoughts? oh my bro was here twice this week to drop measured amounts of food for the 4 endlers and 2 b.bee gobys that live in the tank

well it looks like your filter is clogged for now, it could be something rotting in there....might just be a prime build-up of bacteria

From what I can tell, it looks like what my boyfriends heater did before we bought a new one... it would just collect this white, crusty gunkiness that we'd have to wash off

What do u feed them, my fish spit out the fat from fresh meat, and it sits on the filter intake looks similar to what you described.
