All I really have are some plastic plants designed for aquarium use, and regular colored aquarium rocks. I also have 2 pink quartz rocks in there. That's it really. I don't really understand why the [acronym:61389f9128="power head or Measure of the concentration of hydrogen ions, depending on context"]ph[/acronym:61389f9128] goes up either.

The pH of the tap looks great--you can have numerous fish in there. The pH of the tank is odd. Is the hardness different between the tank and tap?

Yes there is a difference. I am testing each and every thing that is in there to see if of my additions might be causing the problem. I haven't had enough time to check everything yet. I hope to know by Thursday.

Eurka I have found the problem. The pink quartz rock that I have in the tank is leaching alkaline. I will need to drain the tank and start over again. This time, no pink rock,

No take them out, and do partial water changes everyday. It will come down gradually that way.

I agree with Rich, don't tear down the whole tank!
