What to do with Aquarium stone?

I have black gravel and wanted to build some hiding places and decorate with this slate gray/blake quartzite rock (see here: Aquarium Stone-Blue Quartzite Rock- Cave Kit- 20+ lbs! - eBay (item 260403758120 end time Feb-26-10 14:49:56 PST))

Do I need to boil the pieces of stone first? Will it alter my Ph a whole bunch? Would this generally be a smart idea?

just get some slate from an lfs or landscaping place, pure silicone (geI, no mold or mildew resistors) and make whatever you want. you can get slate alot cheaper than what theyre listing
