Whats a good.......

Whats a good way to preserve the paint on ornaments, I know they dont last forever but I was just wondering.
Reason Im asking is because I just got a discountinued ornament in the mail from ebay and the chances of me getting another are slim.
I want to keep it up for as long as I can....

THANKS-

If it is that rare and you want to keep it in good shape, I wouldn't put it in your aquarium then.

I guess you could always repaint it and seal it.
