Where did this snail come from?

if u want them gone then get just about any loach. try khuliis there cheap and very cool fish

I already have a pleco and 2 shrimps... would getting a loach still possible? or even necessary?

yea it might not be neccsesary. a trick that i learned to get rid of snails is place a cucomber/zuchini slice in the tank and all the snails will go right to it then wen there all on top of it take it out of the tank. But the probblem is ur pleco will deffinately be all over that thing. <Plecos lovee vegtebles>
