Could I replace air pump and air stone (air bubbles) for a small internal filter that also works as power head? I really dont need the extra filtration. Just a bonus really. Or does air stone work alot better in aeration and adding oxygen etc etc?

Thanks.

Air driven sponge filter alone is fine, main thing in any case is circulation throughout the tank. Nearly all the O2/CO2 exchange takes place at the surface of the water, so turning over the tank volume is important.

I was thinking of using an electrical internal filter (i already have another filter running, this is just extra filtration as a bonus) instead of using an air pump with air stone .
