I have a white stem like growth on my rocks, plants and gravel. I have a 36 gallon freshwater aquarium with cichlids, clown loaches, and one pleco. I am running two aqua clear 55's. I believe one of my eletric yellow cichlid currently has velvet and i just put the treatment in today when I noticed this growth.

Please help! Is this something I should be worried about?
Feel free to ask further questions about my set-up.

Looks like just a harmless mold or fungus. Just scrape it off.

On a side note a 36 gal tank is way too small for clown loaches, and may also be too small for the pleco if it's not a dwarf.

Thanks.

My clown loaches are not even an inch in length currenly, & I heard they grew slowly. My boyfriend has a 55 gal, and will soon be setting up a 125 so maybe I will consider giving them to him. Im not sure if my pleco is a dwarf or not he is about 2.5 inches right now. If he starts to grow I can re-locate him as well.

Thanks again.
