A person asked me yesterday what the white stuff on her glass was. She said it's white, and not green or brown, and is fuzzy like the green fuzzy algae. And she said it wipes off pretty easy, but keeps coming back. Any ideas of what it is? This is the gal that got the pleco from me.

that happened to me once, but it turned out not to be algae. It was caused by my substrate not being cleaned prior to putting it in the tank.

She says she's been dealing with it for a couple months now. She's just going to keep cleaning it. Was just wondering how to keep it from coming back.

Probably not photosynthetic; colors's not right. That means it's possibly bacterial. A bio-film that is collecting dtritus, growing more film, which collects more...

Something is feed ing this. Stop feeding it. It will subside.
