Not a monster?!? Thats way too big for your 20 gallon. You would need about a 70 gallon min for a 8" pleco.

You at least agree too big for the 20g right? I think the smallest you would want to squeeze a 8" pleco in would be a 55g tank. When my Royal gets to be 7-8" I'm going to have to trade him in.

Tnx for the advice. I'm planning to buy a bigger tank anyway soon. Around 55 or 75 gal. Depending of the space i will get when i'm going to move to a new apartment/house. I will keep teh 20 gal for teh small neon tetra's and will ad some more small tetra's and ghost shrimp. ( if they are not eaten by my goeramie's) :?

I don't think it looks like a sailfin. Plecos don't grow that fast and since you intend to upgrade soon anyway, I wouldn't worry. It's an awesome looking fish.

Yes, at about 4-5" or so it should be moved into a bigger tank.
