will my filter work here?

I'm setting up a 65 gallon tank and have an Emperor400 hang on filter. I would like to keep the tank as close to the wall as possible so I was wondering if hanging the filter on the side of the tank would work okay. Thanks!

I'd say not, unless you have the filter blasting the water out (which isn't good for most fish) the filtered water won't reach the other end of the aquarium.

filter

I have to disagree. I think the filter will work OK on the side. I would put the intake extension on it to get the intake as deep in the tank as possible. If you're worried about circulation, put a small PH on the other side of the tank. But I think it will be fine. JMHO

I have to agree with LoganJ, as long as it's not being blocked too much by anything and it's flow rate etc are set accordingly, it will still do it's job to the required standard.
