Will they gain confidence?

I have a trio of zebra loaches in my 55 gallon. I bought three and plan to buy some more. However at the moment they are very shy. Would adding more mean they would gain confidence? i dont want to add more of a species i will never see

Tank mates are

Bleeding heart tetra
Honey gourami
Cherry barb
Julii cories

They have been in for a fortnight. If i was to bring the total to 6 would they appear more?
