Will this harm any fish I buy?

I'm setting up a planted tank (1st timer). I purchased plants from my [acronym:f3e5b2884f="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:f3e5b2884f] and an online store. Some have been planted for a couple of weeks and some I planted yesterday.

Now for the problem/question.
I didn't remove the weights/bands from my plants!! I just read these should be removed. What implications does this have for my future fish? Will it harm them? I will remove the weights today, but is it too late?

What should I do?
Please advise.

Thanks

Dont worry just take them off. Metal break down is a long term process. You have done no harm to your water, your future fish will be just fine.

I agree! Take them off now and you and your fish will be fine!

Less a matter of harming the fish, more a matter of the bands causing the stems to rot out, so the plants don't root, and then float when teh stem dissolves.
