Yet Another Betta Ethics Thread

I know everybody discusses ethics about bettas alot but I was having a thought. People say to put a betta in a vase with a plant growing in it and it will eat the plant. I know it wont eat the plant but is it possible that infrusia (I know that is spelled wrong) would grow there and the betta would eat that?
I am not advocating bettas in bowls I was just curious.
