Any idea what that white growth is?

Do you mean the thing on the glass above the water line between the power head and filter? Looks like snail eggs. What kind of snails are in the tank?

Yes, it looks like a nest or mold. It's on the glass.

It was slimy when I took it off. I was afraid it would hurt my fish so I removed it. They are apple snails in my tank.

Apple snails lay their eggs our of water so that's what those are.
