10 gallon rcs tank build and progression

Although I do have a question I'm planning on buying a sponge filter
I see some made for 10 and 20 gallons
Should I buy the one for 10 gallons or over filter with 20 gallons?
And does it still provide good water clarity and overall good filtration?

For pet collection
I don't think they multiply to the point where it's overwhelming and it also depends on the size of he tank and how many you can keep in there

You can sell or give away RCS. There are homes for them. You can keep 100 in 10g with good care.
