Have a adf in a ten gallon by himself was thinking of putting him in my 55 with community fish.
Will he survive?

He will most likely drown die to the height of the tank. They come up when they need air so unless he has somewhere to feel comfortable towards the top of the tank he could die. That's just the experience I had with mine but I could be different with yours.

He could be in there with plants. I for think he would try to munch on them.
