Cherries are cool! Or get Crystal, although they are more expensive, they worth it. They are really pretty.

I think sakuras do. I'm not sure about the crystals though.

Going back to the original question about amanos escaping...
I guess they must do..
Had a call from the wife and she said she found either Incy or Wincy (as called by our 6 year old) on the kitchen floor about a foot away from the tank... Bearing in mind that I have a Interpet fishbox with a lid on it this little blighter got out and has now unfortunately become lawn fertiliser as not only did he/she get out but got walked on :-( we only had the weee littlen just over a week :-( my only guess is that it managed to climb out via either the air hose,the heating lead or the filter lead... There are cuttouts at the back of the lid to allow space for the leads, so need to find a way to seal these in a way that I can still open the lid and move the cables if needed.
In the meantime one shrimp is left and will get some mates on Thursday when we'll get some cherries and some endlers for the tank... hope the little survivor doesnt get too lonley in that time...

Hi everyone,

Thanks a lot for all of your responses. I am not sure if the two shrimp that are missing could be molting as I don't know much about shrimp behavior just yet.

I have looked all over the tank for them except for one place. I have the Fluval Edge Zen Wall in my tank and they could easily be hiding in behind. I can't really take it out to check as it houses two of my plants. Here are a couple of pictures.





Could my Guppies/Tetras have eaten them?

I think the shrimp are most likely just hiding because they are new to the tank. I didn't realize they were shy animals.

I'll keep you guys posted if anything new happens.

P.S. Any clues as to why the hair algae is not being eaten?

Try a Siamese algae eater, within hours I noticed the hair algae gone. If sticking with shrimp and room is available I would suggest rock shrimp
