I have a 25/30 gal. (Not sure which) planted tank with a Betta in it. I want to try shrimp in it also.

I have areas for them to hide from Chester, the Betta, such as a tunnel, Catappa leaf litter, moss balls, and a few types of mosses.

I just got 15 RCS in the mail today from an AquaBid seller. They are acclimating now.

Any additional steps I could take to help protect my community of shrimp?

Thanks. I have a big pile of Christmas Tree moss. ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1463012248.873406.jpg
Will that do the same thing?

The Christmas moss should help. The more the merrier. The shrimp will also climb/hide amongst the floating vegetation as well.
A lot may depend on the temperament of the betta.

Yes, same effect. Why not go with a bigger variety of ornamental shrimp that are less likely to get eaten? I've had a breeding group of Super tigers for a couple years in a tank with Scarlet badis and Peacock gudgeons.
