I caught crayfish in a creek next to me so I put it in my tank, but I woke up to find him dead out of my take a few days after I put him in. He was with my pleco. I did not put him in my cichlid tank because I did not want it to get harassed but he still escaped. Do they do this often

Crayfish only live 2-3 years so maybe he was pretty old and/or the stress from moving killed it D: but crayfish are 'thugs' and don't really get along with other fish anyway. They need a lot of water and stuff... Anything could have happened. At least your platies are ok :)

Sorry about your loss :s

Crays will try to escape if the water isnt to their liking or not enough oxygen .. some people say theirs always tries to get out mine hasnt ever tried and we have had them since feb. We have a bubblewand in the tank and a filter so they have plenty of oxygen.. it prolly died bc it dried and didnt/couldnt get back in the water ..
