They're better off in 6.5 ish, with 7 maybe being the max they'll breed at. The farther you get away from their level of comfort, the more likely they are to die, and the surer you can be that they will not breed. Sorry!

Well I personally love RCS, but you could try painted yellow shrimp, orange Sakura shrimp or blueberry shrimp. You may also try Rillis which come in red, blue and redblue. They're all more expensive than RCS, but on average less expensive than CRS. These species will all interbreed, so only pick one. Be careful with orange shrimp, they are sold sometimes as Cardinia, and I don't know if there are different varieties there. Make sure your seller knows his stuff. Also make sure you know yours!
