Dead snail :/

The more of it that is out of the shell the more like foul rotten flesh it will smell. It's awful

I guess you could boil it but that would be gross and smell horrible. If you really want the shell I'd keep it outside until enough of the dead snail rots to come loose from the shell.

Agreed! Cover the shells with water in a pot, boil a few minutes then use tweezers or a couple of toothpicks to remove once they're just cool enough to handle. You could always put them in a resealable baggie with enough water to fill the shells and freeze, then thaw and dump them out. For some reason, the latter method has always given me the eebie jeebies.

I'd just leave it in the shell and in a tall plastic fast food drink cup outside and keep the water near full and in a couple weeks it will be degraded and then rinse out.

Are you sure it is dead? Sometimes they close up for days, and days...
