They are so pretty...I can't wait to get my blue velvets
 
The state is afraid that these shrimp will pose a threat to native invertebrates. The problem with their theory is the endangered shrimp they want to protect live in extremely salty water so the two species would never meet. A few people keep these shrimp secretly here but I wouldn't risk it
 
is it? i thought people use them as bait?

Halocaridina rubra is an endangered species found only in a few saltwater ponds in hawaii.
 
they are also called opae ula right? i totally have liek 30+ of them in a brackish setup.
