I just moved, and I combined my RCS with my fish. I have not been seeing many shrimp which was expected. What was not expected is the shrimp living in my canister filter. I figured some would get sucked up but didn't think of "the after life" in the filter. They seem to be doing ok with a maximum of 9 days of filter incarceration

They can survive for surprising periods of time in filters. Food is plentiful and so is oxygen. I have found as many as two dozen shrimp in a small HOB filter, despite it having a prefilter on the intake.

Well hopefully they last until I can set up my 20 long shrimp tank. Then I'll just dump em in. It is also nice because now I know where to look if I wanna spy on some shrimp for a bit lol
